Nancy Quillen Gill, President
Nancy Quillen Gill is a medical practice management consultant with over thirty years experience in the Healthcare industry in Huntsville, Alabama. Successful Communications Associates, Inc. (SCA, Inc.) is the company formed by Nancy to provide practice management to the medical community. SCA, Inc. was formally incorporated in February 1988, and opened as a full-time business on July 5, 1988. The business evolved from Nancy’s twelve years experience as a medical business manager and her increasing awareness of the need for this particular service for the medical community. The business is now known as “Nancy Gill Consulting” (NGC) to better identify the founding partner.
From 1977-1984, Nancy attended the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a major in Business Administration/Management. In addition, through continuing education programs, workshops, and seminars, she stays well informed on current issues and changing methodologies affecting the medical field. As a result of her effective management skills, Nancy has successfully guided medical offices to achieve maximum receivables while maintaining quality patient care as the primary goal.
Nancy began her career in the medical support field in 1974 and has worked in the psychiatry, neurology, neurosurgery and ophthalmology specialties, accumulating twelve years experience as a business manager. As business manager for Jeffrey C. Hindman, M.D. for ten years, she opened the first satellite office from the medical community of Huntsville. The first office was opened in Scottsboro and a second followed in Fayetteville a short time later. Concurrent with her work with Jeff Hindman, M.D., in May 1982, Nancy began her medical practice management business. Since that time, she has had the opportunity to work with a number of physicians in a consulting role. Her consulting has encompassed the specialties of cardiology, urology, gynecology, general surgery, neonatology, internal medicine, family practice, gastroenterology, OB-GYN, orthopaedics, psychiatry, otolaryngology, pediatrics, plastic and reconstructive surgery, ophthalmology, oncology, pulmonary disease and dermatology. Through her work and management experiences, Nancy not only understands the concepts of good management but also has a practical working knowledge of the functions of medical practices.
During the last twenty seven years of business, Nancy and SCA, Inc., (now Nancy Gill Consulting) has assisted with the establishment of over fifty new medical offices in Huntsville and the surrounding area. Nancy continues to reach out to professionals in allied fields to provide a cafeteria of resources necessary for physicians to operate their practices successfully. Nancy Gill Consulting also provides medical billing, electronic medical records, and electronic claim software products. Nancy and her company is now a vendor for all the McKesson products, Medisoft billing and scheduling, Medisoft Clinical, RelayHealth clearinghouse for one destination for all claims and other related add-on products.
Nancy has a long history as a leader, teacher and effective communicator. As a service to the healthcare community, from 1984-1989, Nancy planned and coordinated a series of practice management lectures to the second and third-year residents of the UAH School of Primary Medical Care (now UAB Medical School). She continues to share her knowledge and experiences to groups and individuals on a volunteer basis as requested. As a member of the AAMA, Alabama Society, 1977-1989, Nancy served on the Title XIX (Medicaid) Medical Care Advisory Committee. She is a founding member of the Medical Group Management Association, Huntsville Chapter. Nancy is presently a member of community organizations that focus on enriching the lives of the Huntsville community at large. Nancy is a member of the Women’s Economic Development Council. She is a founding member of The Village, Inc., a homeless outreach organization and served on the Board. She was also a founding member of the Women’s Business Center of North Alabama, Inc and presently serves on that Board. The Village Inc has been reactivated to encompass the need of the Madison County JCC and serves on that Board. Her memberships include the Old Town Historical Society and is a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
